Mount Desert Island | The Newberg’s
On the rainiest day of the summer we began our trek to Mount Desert Island. We had been planning this trip for months. Brooke told us that “Google Maps doesn’t represent it very accurately” so off we were with our handy-dandy old school map in tow. We began our 4 hour drive to the Lighthouse Inn with traffic, heavy downpour but luckily a cooler full of snacks. We wanted to get to the location for Brooke & Matt’s wedding the night before so we were ready to go without hitch the following morning. As we drove into a quaint town in the dark, we weren’t aware of the beauty that was hiding right in from of us. We checked into the Lighthouse Inn surrounded by shag rugs and floral. We sat down on the floor and rummaged through the welcome goody bag Brooke & Matt had left us. After eating far too many Fig Newtons we decided to get a good night sleep.
The morning of the Newberg Wedding we walked downstairs to the coffee shop, grabbed two iced coffees and headed out the door to scope out the ceremony area. We couldn’t wipe the grins off our faces. Not only had the rain the day before left for good, the sun was rising brilliantly. Brooke & Matt had a beautiful backdrop of the ocean and sailboats with not a cloud in the sky. We spend our day capturing love, laughs, vibrant flowers, a one-of-a-kind dress, pool reflections & wonderful spirits. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Newberg. You two radiate love.
